But, I have a problem with your attitude towards security, both personal and national. With regards to national security, you're basically anti-military. You don't like fighting -- who does? -- and so you don't want to pay for anyone to fight for you. You sort of like the U.N., which, when push comes to shove, means the fighting is being done by the USMC. Humm.
OK, now on to personal security. You really favour anti-gun laws, including the current Firearms Act which prohibits the kinds of small calibre weapons women used to carry. Your plan is to call 911 and wait. For what?
Well, for a man (usually) to show up with a gun.
Do you see anything wrong with this? Don't you feel a little embarrassed by leaving the protection of one man (your husband) and then calling for the protection of another (nice Mr. Policeman)?
And to keep both you and him happy and free, you are quite prepared to call on American Men to protect you.
Well, OK, we're suckers. We men just love doing this, and we'll keep doing it. But when it comes to logic, and honour, and simple fairness, I think Canadian women have a long way to go, with some notable exceptions.
So what should you do to change my opinion?
- Join the National Firearms Association
- Get your PAL
- Write a letter to your MP asking him (or her) to help you get a Type III Authorization to Carry licence so you can carry your restricted weapon around with you.
Update
Some moonbats over at Canadian Cynic and Red Canuck have taken a slice out of this post and me because I'm "dim-Witted" (opinions differ) and the post is "vacuous, condescending, paternalistic claptrap". Actually, it was a wake-up call for Canadian women to take responsibility for their own security if they want to be truly independent. If that's "vacuous, condescending, paternalistic claptrap", I guess I'm guilty of that too.

Um, if you suggest that women all feel the same, and are all going to passively call 911 if some invader with a gun shows up, then yeah. That's pretty ridiculous.
And by telling us to stop being such passive little ninnies, you're certainly being misogynistic and paternalistic.
We don't need you to tell us what to do. By assuming we do, simply because you disagree with the way some of us choose to live our lives, you're guilty as charged.
