Why Progressives Love Criminals

After writing my post yesterday, I got to thinking how curious it is that Progressives always seem to be making some excuse for criminals.

 because they don't believe 
in property

Indeed, let's go further: Progressives never want criminals locked up, always want reduced sentences, don't even like the idea of calling them crooks. To a Progressive, a young criminal is an 'at-risk-youth' or part of a 'disadvantaged group.'

To a Progressive, society creates criminals by discrimination, abuse and the poor distribution of wealth.

Now we're getting close to the heart of the matter. Progressives are really Marxists who don't believe in the private ownership of property. They're also atheists who reject the concepts of Good and Evil and the moral necessity to choose between them. And finally, they don't believe genetics determine character despite overwhelming evidence that it does.

This is why there was practically no follow-up to the outrage citizens felt over the Vancouver Stanley Cup riot recently. The public was outraged, but the mass media was strangely silent. The editorial pages seemed to go on vacation for a week over what was clearly a breakdown in society.

The reason is that to the left-wing writers in the Main Stream Media, the breakdown in society is an outcome devoutly to be wished. Since they don't believe rich people should be rich, let the mob get it when it can.

Is it any wonder the closet Marxist Pierre Trudeau left property rights out of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms?

When you're going to confiscate their property, you certainly don't want them thinking they have a right to own it.

Now we have the answer to the question in the headline. Progressives love criminals because Progressives, redistributionists to a man, ARE criminals.
