Why the Occupy Movement is Dangerous

The moment the Occupy movement showed how powerful it is came today when the New York Police department—or rather spineless Mayor Bloomberg—caved in and gave up on ejecting the demonstrators from a private park.

sounds Marxist to me

They are crowing about it on their website, saying "We are winning!" and they are. Just read how jubilant they are at overthrowing private property rights and the forces of law and order.
“We are winning and Wall Street is afraid,” said Kira Moyer-Sims, a protester from Portland, Oregon. “This movement is gaining momentum and is too big to fail.”
“Brookfield Properties is the 1%. They have invested $24 billion in mortgage-backed securities, so as millions face foreclosure and eviction due to predatory lending and the burst of the housing bubble that Wall Street created, its not surprising they threatened to evict Occupy Wall Street,” said Patrick Bruner, an organizer with Occupy Wall Street from the Bed-Stuy neighborhood of Brooklyn. “But Brookfield and Bloomberg have backed down and our movement is only growing as the 99% take to the streets world wide to call for economic justice.”
What we are seeing is the reborn, resurgent, revitalized left. This is Communism in a new face; Marxism with a new cry, this is the French revolution begun again.

Pay close attention to what they're saying. They want to destroy private property. They want to take from the wealthy and give it to, well, themselves!

There is no difference between the goals of the Occupy movement and those of the Stanley Cup Hockey rioters in Vancouver or the earlier rioters in Britain. Both said 'the rich have it and we want it.' The only difference is in tactics.

What makes the movement truly dangerous are their strategy and their techniques. The strategy is to attack capitalism at its weakest point; the bankers and international securities traders who so royally screwed things up in 2008. Of course, they would attack us at our weakest point. It's hopeless to point out government-mandated low interest rates were the initial cause; Wall Street is full of guilty men who profited and knew it was wrong.

Secondly, the occupy movement has some shiny new tools to attack us with. They have the social media websites, and they have smart phones with GPS systems built in. In effect they now have better organizational skills than the police or the security services. They will always be able to out manoeuvre the authorities.

And they have the Arab example. Of course, the Arabs had a cause, but that doesn't matter. The demonstrators have seen mobs stand up to live fire; do you think they're going to be troubled much by pepper spray?

And one more thing. They have the left wing media cheering them on.

Oh, it's going to be a riot in the old town tonight. I hope you've made at least some preparations. Because the police aren't going to help you, or me, this time.

They've already stopped enforcing the law.

Update
Well, that didn't take long.

Oct. 15, 2011 Protesters in Rome smashed shop windows and torched a car as violence broke out during a demonstration in the Italian capital that was part of the Occupy Wall Street campaign.
